Not everyone likes a signet ring, but I sure do. Especially a gold signet ring. And especially especially a gold signet ring with an awesome engraving of a mermaid.

This is a very popular design — a real best-seller in the jewelry world — and with good reason: the way that the mermaid tail wraps around and connects with an opal setting is truly beautiful.

Okay, so technically there aren’t any mermaids on this ring. That’s okay, because this resin ring is most definitely in the spirit of a mermaid-ness. I love that the tiny shells, starfish and seaweed have been captured in a soft-blue tinted resin.

I find that every time I look at a cameo ring I get visions of elegant and swanky times in the early 1900s, of men in long waistcoats and sporting monacles and women in furs and hats with giant feathers boarding a trans-Atlantic cruise ship. Maybe that’s just me, but it’s an image I really enjoy, so seeing this cameo ring of a mermaid just makes me smile.

>How funky and cool is this mermaid ring? Pretty darned funky and cool, I’ll tell you. I love all of the bling associated with this little mermaid.

Mermaid tails make for great jewelry, and this mermaid tail silver ring is no exception. I love that it has a “double tail” design — you meet the mermaid both coming and going.

Silver wire wrap can be used in lots of creative and interesting ways. Like here, where the silver wire wrap has been used to create a ring! I really like how the wrap is entwined with the mermaid in a way that is reminiscent of seaweed.

I really like the wraparound design of this silver mermaid ring. I especially like how the stone has been elevated — rather than being on the same plane as the mermaid tale, it rises above, evoking that common motif of the mermaid lifting high her pearl.

What a wonderful scene being depicted in this gold mermaid ring. Just look at that detail! I love that smile on her face as she reaches out and pinches the cheeks o the happy dolphin… and the ring is gold!

Two mermaids are better than one, right? The mermaid holding aloft a pearl is a common motic in mermaid art. For this ons, I really enjoy the way that the artist has depicted two mermaids working in harmony and sharing a wonderful pearl.

Reminiscent of the sculpted bow of a ship, this “Angel of the Ocean” mermaid ring exhibits exceptional craftsmanship. All of the details of this little ring are quite amazing.

You and your significant other both like mermaids, right? (I mean, how could you possibly live with someone who doesn’t like mermaids?) So why not get a set of rings with a mermaid for each of you? It’s a wonderful reminder of your fantastic relationship.

There’s something about the opal setting for this particular mermaid tail ring. I’m a big fan of little details like that!

Make a statement with this lovely mermaid.

I’m drawn to the unique and this mermaid abalone ring is definitely that. What a wonderful scene is set with this mermaid and some tiny real shells, all on a background of abalone shell. Truly beautiful.

Spoon rings are always fun, and this one is one is no different. I really like the details on this particular mermaid ring — from the scales on her tail to the way her hair just flows, this is a really wonderful ring design.

There’s something about the design of this mermaid’s tail fin that really struck me — it’s like I can feel her breaching the surface of the water.

I really like the excitement on this mermaid’s face in this little mermaid sterling silver ring.

I really like spoon rings. I really do. For those readers who may not know what a spoon ring is, it’s, well, it’s basically what it sounds like: a ring made from a spoon. You see in days gone by a lot of utensiles featured highly decoreative end pieces. Designers of spoon rings take those pieces and bend them into rings, with fantastic results (or, in many cases, they use the original casts to create new versions, which they then bend into rings).
I love the wonderful, classic detail of this particular mermaid spoon ring. I think it’s just beautiful.

This sterling silver ring has a unique rendering of the classic “mermaid with a pearl” motif. I really like the detail on this ring, as well as the way that the band has a braided rope look to it.

Having lived in Colorado in the past, I do have an appreciation of turquoise jewelry. I think that this particular design is absolutely beautiful the way that the turquoise has been utilized as a way to bring to life the mermaid’s tail in this sterling silver setting.

Your choice of stone colors with this sterling silver mermaid tail ring. Which gemstone do you prefer?

Such a classic look to this silver ring. I love the relaxed smile on this mermaid’s face.

What a wonderful and unique rendering of the ‘mermaid with pearl’ motif for this mermaid sculpture silver ring. I love the modern boho style of the sculpture, and how the haif flows in long, independent strands. This rings is definitely one of my favorites.

This one makes me feel as though the mermaid is pushing the ring up and above the surface of the water, perhaps as a gift to the humans.

Sometimes a minimalist approach is the best approach. The design of this silver mermaid ring is both simple and elegant. And beautiful.

I really like the gigantic tail fin on this mermaid in this antiqued statement ring. No one will fail to notice this one!

“The Mermaid in Repose” … okay, that’s not really what this ring is called, but I think that would indeed be a great name for it. I really like the serenity of the subject of this ring, the way she exhibits a relaxed and quiet confidence.

The joy of this mermaid is palpable. And I really like the way that the amethyst has been set on this ring, it fits perfectly with the mermaid.

What a wonderful statement ring this “Mermaid Gypsy” is! All of those little details, and the stones and the intricate coloring of her tail… beautiful.

This Byzantium Mermaid is definitely rightly named. It’s an image which makes me think of ancient mosaic tile artwork in marble palaces. And it’s a mermaid too!

Just one thing I want to say about this particular ring: love the hair! I mean, just look at how long, luxurious and flowing that mermaid’s hair is. How great!

A simple silhouette. A wonderful statement. The sitting mermaid ring.

Another wonderful pose exhibited in this vintage sterling silver mermaid adjustable ring.

What wonderful detail to the fin of this mermaid tail ring. You can really tell that whoever the artist was who created this ring paid lots of attention to that fin. It’s beautiful.

This is one of my favorite rings in this collection. There’s just something about the expression on this mermaid’s face as she cradles the conch shell — it made me think that perhaps she’s longing for a child. Maybe I’m reading into it, but that’s what this one makes me feel, and that feeling is powerful.

I really like that this spoon ring incorporates as design that is definitely inspired by ancient Greek and Roman artwork. It makes for a lovely setting.

I am always amazed when a jewelry maker can get such an fine level of detail into their work. Remember that this is a ring. It’s small. Yet look at all of the amazing detail which has been so crisply rendered. And the tiny gem setting… outstanding!

A great combination of intricate and minimal on this Green Cushion Cut Mermaid Ring. The silver representation of the saves is wonderful, the gemstones set in her hair are beautiful, and I especially like that the artist has even gone the extra step to make the inside of the ring (which, of course, no one will see while it is being worn) look so exquisite. This is definitely a mermaid ring worth posessing.

Pewter is one of the earliest metals used in engraved and sculpted artwork, and this representation of a mermaid really uses the medium well.

I really enjoy the simple approach taken on this sterling silver ring — flat with engraved scales — it makes a really powerful statement.

Hand stamping, when done well, can produce some really wonderful effects, like this ring depicting a scene of a mermaid tail breaching the surface.

Yes, that is really a tiny book, whose silver cover is a mermaid. Yes it is. And it is cool.

Two mermaids hold up a lovely piece of topaz for the world to see.

This mermaid ring has been made in a classic pewter style. Pewter is an intersting medium for jewelry, as shapes imprinted upon it seem to take on a life of their own, as seems to be happening with this wonderufl representation of a mermaid in pewter.

Colorful and fun, this mermaid ring is meant to garner attention.

What a fun statement to make to the world, “I’m really a mermaid.” Sigh. If only it were true. If only it were true.

really like the classic minimalist design of this small coil mermaid ring. Certain parts of the image, such as the scales of the tail, have detail whils some parts of the image, such as the face, are left intentionally blank… and a mystery.

The mermaid holds her favorite shell in her arms and floats calmy below her favorite jewel in this Blue Topaz Mermaid Ring.

I really like the simplistic beauty of this mermaid cuff ring; just a mermaid communing with a school of fish. It’s wonderful.

This silver ring realy caught my eye because of the uniqueness of the mermaid illustrtation. The gentle spiral of her pose is really, really lovely. And I also enjoy the fact that the artist has created some special details for the setting of the ring.

Just a silhouette, but it’s powerful. And I love the mounting.

Here’s lookin’ at you! I love the way that the proportions of this ring have been played with. It really is an eye-catching piece.

What a wonderful and unique engraving on this Mythical Mermaid Ring. I think it’s really cool the way that the entire ring has been engraved with this scene of a beautiful mermaid swimming through the ocean, her long hair flowing around her.

What fun! I mean, really… what fun!

I’m a fan of resin rings and the way that you can capture things inside them, like with this mermaid and her mirror.

A wonderful old-world nautical theme, like something from the bow of a wooden sailing ship, for this cameo ring.

There’s something really appealling to me about the design of this ring. The fact that her human half is rendered as merely a silhouette, while her tail is rendered with details of scales… I just find this one mesmerizing.

Although the mermaid in her shell is a common artistic motif, you don’t see it much represented in mermaid rings. That alone would make this one special, but the fact that it has been done in an art nouveau style takes it several levels higher.

The detail of this carved sterling silver meraid ring is simply captivating. Love it!
